First Lady Dupree was born and raised in Kansas City, KS. She is the eldest child of Deacon Larry Sr. and Deaconess Shirley Cruitt. She is a graduate of the University of Kansas (“Rock Chalk Jayhawk!”) where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Upon graduating from KU, Lady Dupree worked as a Substitute Teacher in the Kansas City, KS Public Schools. She then worked for the State of Kansas as a Disability Claim Adjudicator, before resigning from her position to become a full-time stay-at-home mom.
Lady Dupree accepted Christ at a young age while attending a summer youth retreat at Camp Ascension in Toronto, Kansas. Subsequently, she united with Bethel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor R.C. Higgs. Lady Dupree was an active member in her church for more than 20 years. She enjoyed singing in the Inspirational and Gospel choirs and participating in Youth Mission where she served as president. She was also active in the Missionary Baptist State Convention of Kansas, serving as Asst. Treasurer, Secretary, and 1st vice president of the Youth Department. She also served as Senior Youth President in Kaw Valley District.
Upon uniting in marriage with Bishop Dupree in September of 1999, she became a member of Grace Tabernacle COGIC which would later become Grace Tabernacle Family Life Outreach Center, under the leadership of Pastor Alvin Sr. and Co-pastor Linda Dupree. She continued to serve faithfully in the Music Department as organist/keyboardist, and most recently as President of YWCC (Young Women’s Christian Counsel), until becoming First Lady of Grace Abounds Community Church in January of 2018.
Lady Dupree continues to be active in her role as First Lady of Grace Abounds. She has a God-given love for praise and worship, and most Sundays you will find her on the keyboard, leading the congregation in song. Nevertheless, you will always find her serving in whatever capacity God desires to up-build His Kingdom. Lady Dupree is an anointed and appointed servant and woman of God, “for such a time as this!”
